With the weather in Phoenix not co-operating for PPG flying I decided to make a quick getaway north to Utah and find some hidden wonders. Wonder is an absolute understatement for what I found. I stopped off firstly in Zion National Park with the goal of making the summit on Angels' Landing. So at "O dark hundred" I set off on my ascent keen to make the sunrise at the peak. For 1500 vertical feet I huffed my way up I quickly realised there were other headlamps further up the mountain that I so I pushed on harder and managed to make the first ascent of the day and have the entire landing to myself for sunrise which was nothing short of magical.
On the way home I detoured to find some slot canyons and have an explore. It was a little intimidating being in Navajo land but found some real beauties. Check out the photos below! Now I'm back in Phoenix and just playing the waiting game for the winds to die down enough for Ryan and I to take to the air in our powered paragliders! Here's hoping for some aerial adventures soon!! So I've been gone a couple weeks now on my roadtrip with my shaggin wagon and I'm having a blast shenaniganising and exploring my way around America. I started in some way out hidden gems in the south of Utah, then out East to the Colorado Rockies, South to Arizona to find some magical peaks to summit and now I'm on my way back to Utah to play in Zion National Park for a week and check out some slot canyons too!
Unfortunately the weather hasn't been 100% co-operative for paramotor flying so I have had to delay my training for another week. But come this time next week I should be flying high with Paradrenalin! |
